Garrahan Hospital dismisses 11 workers for medical directorate takeover

Buenos Aires, Feb 3 (NA) – The Garrahan Hospital decided this Tuesday to dismiss 11 workers, including 10 union delegates, for their participation in the takeover of the Medical Directorate that occurred on October 31, 2025. The measure was adopted by the hospital's Board of Administration in the midst of ongoing administrative investigations and responds, as indicated, to the 'seriousness of the acts' committed during the office occupation, which interrupted the institution's functioning. Among the dismissed are Norma Lezana, leader of the Association of Professionals and Technicians (APyT), and Alejandro Lipcovich, from the Association of State Workers (ATE). According to what Noticias Argentinas agency could learn, both were among those who organized and led the takeover. The rest of the employees investigated will receive minor sanctions, according to the individual evaluation of their conduct during the episode. The measure was celebrated by the Chief of Cabinet, Manuel Adorni, who stated that 'he who does it, pays for it'. The reason for the conflict: the demand to be paid for days not worked.
